LOF-ODP-002: Legal Role Conferral 0.1.0 confers A relation between a legal act and a legal role that comes into existence through that act. conferred by A relation between a legal role and the legal act through which it came into existence. terminates A relation between a legal act and a legal role that ceases to exist through that act. specified by A relation between a legal role and legal content that specifies what the role consists in, such as the statute establishing an office or the lease clause defining the tenant's position. BFO placement (LOF-P-004): a legal role is borne by a person or organization because of external circumstances (an appointment, a contract, a statute) rather than because of the bearer's physical make-up, and the bearer need not change physically to acquire or lose it. That is the mark of a BFO role, as opposed to a disposition. legal role A role that inheres in a person or organization in virtue of some legal act or legal content, and that is realized in processes having legal significance. the role of judge borne by a person appointed to a court; the role of tenant borne by a party to a lease; the role of trustee Defined class.
