Historical Note |
The Law Courts Miscellaneous Collection contains a variety of legal records related to several civil and criminal courts administered by the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, the French Republic, and the Kingdom of Great Britain between 1798 and 1800. This collection includes records from the Magna Curia Castellaniae, Senescalia, Consolato del Mare, Guidice di Pace, Tribunale Civile, among others. |
Custodial History |
Records of the Law Courts Miscellaneous were discovered in the cisterns of Fort Saint Elmo, Valletta, in 1992. Transferred to the National Archives of Malta. Documents sorted by year, rather than by collection. |
