Letter from Grand Master Philippe Villiers de L'Isle-Adam to Francesco II Sforza, Duke of Milan, concerning the work of Fra' Scipione Radicati (Cocconato) in the Priory of Lombardy. Fra' Scipione had been chosen to collect the monies of the Priory of Lombardy owed to the Common Treasury of the Order of Saint John in Malta on 1534 April 1. The letter serves as a safe conduct, accredidation, and introduction to the Duke of Milan. Scipione Radicati (Cocconato) was admitted to the Priory of Lombardy in 1513; he was commander of San Leonardo (Chieri) in 1533 and Inverno (Inverno e Monteleone) around 1534. |
